Horse IL-6 ELISA Kit (HRFI0002)

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody kit designed to quantify interleukin-6 in equine samples. IL-6 is a cytokine involved in immune response and inflammation, and the kit provides a sensitive and specific means of measuring its levels across a variety of research applications. The kit is reactive with horse samples and is suited to the study of equine inflammatory, infectious, autoimmune and oncological contexts.

The assay reports a sensitivity of 1.875 pg/mL and an assay range of 3.125–200 pg/mL. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported linearity for serum (n=5) is 87–97% at 1:2, 82–95% at 1:4 and 80–97% at 1:8; for EDTA plasma (n=5), 85–104% at 1:2, 82–100% at 1:4 and 81–96% at 1:8; and for heparin plasma (n=5), 87–105% at 1:2, 85–101% at 1:4 and 82–99% at 1:8. Reported recovery averages are 98% for serum (n=5), 95% for EDTA plasma (n=5) and 94% for heparin plasma (n=5).

The protocol proceeds through reagent equilibration, a 37°C primary incubation of 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) incubation at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and a stop reaction read at 450 nm. Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
