Histone H4 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

This colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for measuring Histone H4 protein expression in cultured cells. It uses an indirect in-cell ELISA format in which Histone H4 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit can be used to assess relative Histone H4 levels in adherent cell cultures and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors, or activators on Histone H4 expression.

The assay is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples. Detection is read colorimetrically at 450 nm, with a stated dynamic range of more than 5000 cells. The kit is supplied in a 96-well microplate format and is stored at 4 °C with a stability of 6 months.

Because the readout is qualitative, two normalization methods are included: a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody serves as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell stain can be used to determine cell density so absorbance values can be adjusted to cell amounts.
