HER2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed to measure Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) in cultured cells, supporting research into cancer biology and drug development. The kit uses an indirect ELISA format in which HER2-specific primary antibodies are captured and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies, producing a colorimetric signal that can be read at 450 nm.

The assay is described as lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive, allowing relative HER2 expression to be quantified in adherent cells and used to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) and activators. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalization, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step is provided so cell density can be determined and absorbance values adjusted for plating differences. Reactivity is reported for Human, Mouse and Rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. The kit is supplied in a 96-Well Microplate format with colorimetric detection and is stored at 4°C for up to 6 Months.

HER2 is a proto-oncogenic receptor tyrosine kinase of the EGFR family, and its amplification or overexpression is associated with aggressive forms of breast cancer and other cancers, making reliable quantification valuable for studies of disease progression and targeted therapies.
