The Assay Genie Guinea pig TNFa ELISA Kit is built on a sandwich immunoassay format and is calibrated for quantitative measurement of tumor necrosis factor alpha in guinea pig biological samples. Researchers commonly deploy this kit to investigate inflammatory cytokine release, endotoxemia and sepsis models, mycobacterial infection studies, allergic airway inflammation, and vaccine adjuvant responses in guinea pig preclinical models.

Reported performance characteristics include a standard curve detection range of 15.6 to 1000 pg/ml, a minimum detectable sensitivity below 5.8 pg/ml, and a recommended sample volume of 100 ul per well. The microplate is pre-coated with a species-specific capture antibody and uses a biotinylated detection antibody with streptavidin-HRP conjugation. Plates are read at 450 nm with a 630 nm reference correction, and intra-assay precision is generally below 10% CV while inter-assay precision is generally below 12% CV.

Kit contents include a pre-coated 96-well microplate strip plate, lyophilized recombinant guinea pig TNFa standard, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP concentrate, wash buffer, substrate solution, stop solution, standard diluent, and plate sealers. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 degrees C to limit freeze-thaw cycling, while unused strips remain stable when refrigerated. The kit is intended for research use only and is not approved for clinical diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

The assay shows no significant cross-reactivity with related guinea pig cytokines such as IL-1 beta, IL-6, or IFN-gamma under standard conditions, supporting its use for selective TNFa quantification in complex matrices including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants.
