Guinea pig PIINP/Procollagen II N-Terminal ProPeptide ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the precise measurement of Procollagen II N-terminal Propeptide (PIINP) in guinea pig samples. It uses a double-antibody sandwich format with a colorimetric detection method and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

PIINP serves as a key biomarker of collagen synthesis and degradation, providing insights into bone metabolism, connective tissue turnover, and related musculoskeletal and metabolic conditions. The assay delivers a reported sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery performance in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma shows average recoveries of 91%, 99%, and 95% respectively. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C and the kit is stated to remain stable for 12 months under those conditions.
