Description

Designed for accurate detection of Interleukin 12 (IL-12) p40 levels in guinea pig research samples, this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric, double-antibody format. The kit measures IL-12 p40 with a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL.

IL-12 p40 is a key cytokine involved in the regulation of immune responses, particularly in the development of Th1 cells and the production of interferon-gamma. Dysregulation of IL-12 p40 has been linked to various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, making it a useful biomarker for studying these conditions and potential therapeutic interventions. The kit is reactive with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions covers 85-104%, 83-98%, and 82-99% for serum; 91-104%, 87-99%, and 82-99% for EDTA plasma; and 85-102%, 84-100%, and 82-101% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges are 85-102% (94% average) for serum, 85-104% (95% average) for EDTA plasma, and 86-103% (93% average) for heparin plasma. The assay procedure includes equilibrating reagents, loading standards and samples for primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, followed by biotin-labeled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.
