Guinea pig ET-1/Endothelin 1 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's competitive ELISA kit for guinea pig endothelin-1 (ET-1) provides quantification of the vasoconstrictor peptide in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Endothelin-1 plays a crucial role in regulating vascular tone and blood pressure, and its dysregulation has been implicated in cardiovascular diseases, pulmonary hypertension, and kidney disorders, making this assay relevant for vascular biology and cardiovascular research.

The assay uses a competitive ELISA format coated with antigen, with a reported sensitivity of 0.625 pg/mL and a working range of 1.25-80 pg/mL. Recovery rates average 96% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma, and 92% in heparin plasma, with linearity demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions across the same matrices. The procedure involves adding 50 µL of standard or sample with 50 µL of biotin-labeled antibody, incubating at 37°C for 45 minutes, washing, adding TMB substrate for colour development, stopping the reaction, and reading absorbance at 450 nm. Kits are stored sealed at 2-8°C and must not be cryopreserved.
