Description

This colorimetric, cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed to detect GRK2 (G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2) levels in adherent cell samples. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which GRK2 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, measured at 450 nm. The kit is lysate-free and supports high-throughput screening of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators that may affect GRK2 expression.

Reactivity covers human, mouse, and rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to normalize absorbance readings to cell density. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 Months.

GRK2 is encoded by the ADRBK1 gene (Gene ID: 156; UniProt ID: P25098) and is a ubiquitous kinase of the GRK family that phosphorylates the beta-2-adrenergic receptor and related G protein-coupled receptors. Dysregulation of GRK2 activity has been linked to cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, and neurological conditions, supporting research into disease mechanisms and therapeutic approaches.
