GR Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit provides a convenient, lysate-free method for detecting the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) directly in cultured cells. The qualitative indirect ELISA format uses GR-specific primary antibodies for capture, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalysing a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm upon substrate addition.

Supplied in a 96-well microplate format, the assay is suited to adherent cell samples and supports a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. Reactivity is confirmed for human, mouse and rat. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control to normalise target absorbance values, while Crystal Violet whole-cell staining can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months.

The kit enables measurement of relative GR expression in cultured cells and screening of the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators have on GR levels. Applications include studies of cell signalling, proliferation and apoptosis across research areas such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative disorders. The target is encoded by the NR3C1 gene.
