Glycogen Synthase Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of glycogen synthase levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method measured at 450 nm and is provided in a 96-well microplate format suitable for adherent cell samples.

Reactivity is confirmed for human, mouse, and rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. The kit operates as a lysate-free, high-throughput assay that can measure relative glycogen synthase protein expression in cultured cells, including the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, or activators. Detection is achieved through an indirect ELISA format in which target-specific primary antibodies capture glycogen synthase and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

Two normalization methods are provided: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and an optional Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density after the colorimetric measurement. The kit is intended for metabolism research, supporting studies of glycogen synthesis, glucose metabolism and metabolic conditions such as diabetes and obesity. Storage stability is specified at 4°C for 6 months.
