GLUT1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit for detecting GLUT1 protein in cultured cells without the need for lysate preparation. The kit uses an indirect ELISA format in which GLUT1-specific primary antibodies capture the target, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody and catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a 96-well microplate format.

The assay is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples and is suitable for adherent cells. It enables measurement of relative GLUT1 levels in cultured cells and can be used to screen the effects of treatments, siRNA, or chemical inhibitors and activators on GLUT1 expression. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is supplied as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided for determining cell density to allow further normalisation.

The target gene is SLC2A1 (Gene ID 6513, UniProt ID P11166). The stated dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells, and the kit is stored at 4 °C with a shelf life of 6 months.
