GluR5 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Designed by Assay Genie for the qualitative measurement of GluR5 protein expression in adherent cells, this cell-based ELISA kit uses an indirect ELISA format with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies and a colorimetric readout at 450 nm. The assay is lysate-free and suitable for high-throughput screening, including the assessment of treatments, inhibitors, or activators on GluR5 levels.

A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control to normalize target absorbance values. Following the colorimetric measurement, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density, allowing results to be normalized to cell amounts and plating differences to be adjusted.

GluR5 is an ionotropic glutamate receptor of the kainate family, encoded by the gene GRIK1, that functions as a ligand-activated ion channel involved in excitatory neurotransmission. The kit is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. It is supplied in a 96-well microplate format and should be stored at 4°C for 6 Months.
