GluR2 (Phospho-Ser880)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A lysate-free, high-throughput Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie, designed to detect GluR2 protein phosphorylation and expression in cultured cells. The kit targets GluR2 at the Phospho-Ser880 site and uses an indirect ELISA format, in which target-specific primary antibodies capture the analyte while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction at 450 nm upon substrate addition.

The kit is suitable for measuring relative amounts of phosphorylated GluR2 in cultured cells and for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on GluR2 phosphorylation. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing the target absorbance values, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to assess cell density and adjust for plating variation.

Reactivity is established for Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, and the assay has a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. Intended for adherent cells, the kit offers a reliable approach for studying GluR2 phosphorylation, a regulatory event implicated in AMPA receptor trafficking, synaptic plasticity, and neurodegenerative disorders.
