General Thyroxine (T4) ELISA Kit

This Competitive ELISA Kit from Assay Genie quantifies total thyroxine (T4), the principal thyroid hormone regulating metabolic rate, protein synthesis, and iodine homeostasis. The assay uses a competitive immunoassay principle: unlabeled T4 in the sample competes with an enzyme-labeled T4 conjugate for binding to anti-T4 antibodies immobilized on the plate. After washing, a chromogenic substrate is added and absorbance is read on a standard microplate reader.

The kit is supplied as a 96-well microplate with all reagents required for a complete run, including pre-coated wells, calibrators, and detection antibody. It is validated for serum, plasma, and other biological fluids, with a universal reactivity profile covering human samples as well as rodent and other mammalian species used in thyroid research.

Researchers should bring all components to room temperature before use, store the kit refrigerated at 2-8 degrees C, and protect the substrate solution from light to preserve enzymatic activity. A 25 µL sample aliquot is sufficient per well, and standard curves generated from the supplied calibrators allow interpolation of unknown sample concentrations.
