Lipoxin A4 (LXA4) is an arachidonic acid-derived eicosanoid generated through transcellular 5-LOX and 15-LOX lipoxygenase pathways, and it functions as a key specialized pro-resolving mediator that drives the resolution phase of inflammation through the ALX/FPR2 receptor. The competitive ELISA kit from Assay Genie provides a quantitative immunoassay platform for tracking endogenous LXA4 concentrations in tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and conditioned media from rodent and human experimental systems. Researchers in cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, and neuroinflammatory disease models use this kit to correlate LXA4 levels with disease progression and treatment response.

The kit is supplied as a complete set of reagents sufficient for 96 determinations, including a pre-coated microwell plate, lyophilized LXA4 standards, detection antibody, dilution buffers, and a substrate system. A standard curve is generated from serial dilutions of the supplied standard, and unknown samples are assayed in parallel under a competitive binding scheme in which sample LXA4 competes with coated antigen for binding to the detection antibody. Signal intensity is inversely proportional to LXA4 concentration in the well.

Reconstituted standards should be refrigerated and protected from light for short-term use; for longer storage, aliquot and freeze as indicated in the package insert. Working substrate solution is kept at room temperature and protected from light until addition. The product is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic procedures. Each lot is quality-controlled by Assay Genie to support reproducible standard curves across runs.
