Description

From Assay Genie, this Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the sensitive and accurate detection of GATA1 levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm in a 96-Well Microplate format and is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. It falls within the research area of Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling and is intended for use with adherent cells.

GATA1 is a critical transcription factor that plays a key role in the regulation of gene expression, particularly in the development and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. Dysregulation of GATA1 has been linked to hematological disorders including leukemia and anemia, highlighting its importance as a biomarker for studying these conditions. The kit provides a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput, and sensitive indirect ELISA workflow. GATA1 is captured by specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal GAPDH antibody is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density after the HRP measurement.

The kit can be used for measuring relative amounts of GATA1 in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on GATA1. GATA1 is an erythroid transcription factor belonging to the GATA transcription factor family (UniProt ID: P15976; NCBI Gene ID: 2623). The kit is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 Months.
