Description

Designed for the accurate detection of GABA-B receptor levels in cell culture samples, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is a high-throughput, lysate-free assay that delivers qualitative measurement of GABA-B Receptor protein expression in cultured cells. The kit uses an indirect ELISA workflow in which GABA-B Receptor is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies enabling a colorimetric readout at 450 nm.

Reactivity has been established for Human, Mouse and Rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. The kit is intended for adherent cells and can be applied to measure relative GABA-B Receptor levels or to screen the effects of activators, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and other treatments. For data normalisation, an anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density and correct for plating differences. Storage and stability are stated as 4°C/6 Months, and the assay is provided on a 96-Well Microplate format.

Target background: GABA-B Receptor corresponds to the gene product of GABBR1 (Gene ID 2550; UniProt Q9UBS5), a component of the heterodimeric G-protein coupled receptor for GABA. It plays a key role in inhibitory synaptic transmission in the central nervous system and has been implicated in neurological disorders such as epilepsy, anxiety and depression.
