Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit enables the qualitative detection of Gab2 phosphorylated at Ser623 in cultured cells. It uses an indirect ELISA format in which phospho-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyse a colourimetric reaction measured at 450 nm. The assay is described as lysate-free, intended for adherent cells, has a stated dynamic range of > 5000 cells, and shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples.

Designed for measuring the relative amounts of phosphorylated Gab2 in cultured cells, the kit can be used to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors, or activators on Gab2 phosphorylation. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising the target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, by which plating differences can be adjusted. Phosphorylated GAB2 at Ser623 is described in the product literature as a key signalling molecule that plays a crucial role in mediating cell growth, differentiation, and survival, with dysregulation of GAB2 phosphorylation linked to cancer, diabetes, and neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and developing potential therapeutic interventions.
