FRS2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's cell-based ELISA kit provides a convenient, lysate-free method for detecting FRS2 (Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor Substrate 2) protein in cell lysates and culture supernatants, with the assay validated for adherent cells. It uses an indirect ELISA format in which FRS2 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of those primaries to catalyse a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm after substrate addition.

FRS2 is a key signalling adaptor protein that links fibroblast growth factor receptors to downstream pathways influencing cell proliferation, differentiation and survival. Dysregulation of FRS2 signalling has been implicated in cancer and developmental disorders, supporting its relevance as a therapeutic research target. The kit is reactive with human and mouse samples and can be used to measure relative FRS2 expression in cultured cells, or to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) and activators on FRS2 levels.

Two normalisation strategies are built in: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH serves as an internal positive control for absorbance readings, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step determines cell density so absorbance values can be adjusted for plating differences. The manufacturer states a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and recommends storage at 4°C for 6 months.
