Fra-2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the accurate and reliable detection of FRA-2 levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. The cell-based assay is a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive format that can detect Fra-2 protein expression profiles in cells, with reactivity against human, mouse and rat samples. It uses an indirect ELISA format in which Fra-2 is captured by Fra-2-specific primary antibodies while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, allowing the HRP enzyme to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. Detection is measured colorimetrically at 450 nm, and the kit is supplied in a 96-well microplate format suitable for adherent cell samples with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells.

For data normalisation, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of Fra-2 in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on Fra-2. Storage is at 4 °C with 6 months stability. The target protein, Fra-2 (gene symbol FOSL2, Gene ID 2355, UniProt ID P15408), is a transcription factor of the bZIP family, Fos subfamily.
