FKHRL1, also called FOXO3, is a forkhead box O transcription factor whose DNA-binding activity is governed by AKT-mediated phosphorylation at Thr32, Ser253, and Ser315, controlling nuclear-cytoplasmic shuttling and downstream gene programs for apoptosis, autophagy, cell-cycle arrest, and oxidative-stress response.
