FER Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit enables the qualitative measurement of FER protein expression in cultured adherent cells using a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm in a 96-Well Microplate format. The kit is lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive, and can be used to measure relative amounts of FER in cultured cells as well as to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on FER. Qualitative determination is achieved by an indirect ELISA format, in which FER is captured by FER-specific primary antibodies while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody.

FER (Fer) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase of the Fer family that regulates cell-cell adhesion and mediates signalling from the cell surface to the cytoskeleton via growth factor receptors, with increased expression associated with prostate cancer proliferation. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.
