FAS ligand Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A cell-based, indirect ELISA from Assay Genie, the FAS ligand Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit detects FAS ligand protein expression profiles in cultured cells. The kit captures FAS ligand with target-specific primary antibodies, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody and catalyse a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. Described as a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive assay, it is used to measure the relative amounts of FAS ligand in cultured cells and to screen for the effects of various treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on FAS ligand.

FAS ligand, also known as TNFSF6, is a member of the tumour necrosis factor superfamily that plays a central role in regulating apoptosis and the immune response. Dysregulation has been implicated in Lung Cancer and Autoimmune Lymphoproliferative Syndrome, making it a useful biomarker for studying disease mechanisms and developing targeted therapies. Two normalisation methods are supplied: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH serves as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density so absorbance values can be normalised to cell amounts.

Reactivity is reported for Human and Mouse samples. The assay has a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, uses colorimetric detection at 450 nm, and is intended for use with adherent cells.
