FAS Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is intended for the qualitative detection of FAS (also known as CD95) protein expression in cultured human cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which FAS is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies binding the Fc region of the primary antibody catalyze a colorimetric reaction at 450 nm upon substrate addition. The kit is suitable for adherent cells and supports measurement of relative FAS levels, as well as screening for the effects of treatments, inhibitors, or activators.

To enable data normalization, a monoclonal anti-human GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step allows cell density to be determined and used to adjust for plating differences. According to the manufacturer, the assay is lysate-free and suited to high-throughput use, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, and is stored at 4 °C with a stated shelf life of 6 months.
