Estrogen Receptor-alpha Transcription Factor Activity Assay

Unlike conventional protein-quantification ELISAs, this Assay Genie kit measures the actual DNA-binding functionality of Estrogen Receptor-alpha. Activated ERα is captured on a microwell plate pre-coated with Estrogen Response Element (ERE) consensus oligonucleotides, then detected using transcription-factor-specific antibodies and an enzyme-conjugated colorimetric readout. The assay is configured for 96 Assays and validated for nuclear extracts and whole-cell lysates from human, mouse, and rat samples, with no significant cross-reactivity to unrelated nuclear receptors under standard conditions. Typical applications include monitoring estrogen signaling dynamics, screening candidate agonists and antagonists, and characterizing hormone-driven transcriptional regulation in breast cancer, reproductive biology, and endocrinology research.
