Description

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative detection of phosphorylated estrogen receptor alpha at serine 167 in cell lysates. Designed as an in-cell, lysate-free, high-throughput assay, it captures the phosphorylated target with specific primary antibodies; HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies then bind the Fc region of the primary antibody and catalyse a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

The assay targets Estrogen Receptor-alpha (Phospho-Ser167) with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells and uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm. Reactivity is reported for human samples. Two normalisation approaches are included in the workflow: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH serves as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density so that absorbance values can be adjusted to cell amounts.

Associated database entries for the target include Gene ID: 2099, UniProt ID: P03372, OMIM: 133430, and Unigene: Hs.208124, with gene symbol ESR1. The kit is intended for investigating the role of estrogen receptor alpha phosphorylation in cancer, hormone-related disorders, and other conditions where estrogen signalling is involved.
