Equine Interleukin 8 (IL-8) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Equine Interleukin 8 (IL-8) ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of IL-8, a CXC chemokine central to neutrophil recruitment and acute inflammatory signaling, across multiple equine matrices. IL-8 (CXCL8) is secreted by macrophages, endothelial cells, and airway epithelium, and serves as a principal biomarker in studies of equine recurrent airway obstruction, inflammatory airway disease, endometritis, laminitis, synovitis, and exercise-induced pulmonary inflammation.

This microplate-format immunoassay contains pre-coated wells, biotinylated detection reagent, recombinant equine IL-8 reference standards, streptavidin-HRP, and substrate buffers sufficient for 96 determinations. The protocol uses 100 µL of sample per well, with a working standard curve detection range of 15.6 to 1000 pg/mL and a minimum detectable concentration (sensitivity) of approximately 5 pg/mL, supporting accurate quantitation at physiologically relevant concentrations in inflammatory and basal-state samples.

Store unopened kit components refrigerated at 4 °C; reconstituted standards and detection reagent should be aliquoted and held frozen at -20 °C to preserve activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
