Quantitative measurement of equine interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) in horse samples is supported by this sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie, configured around the recombinant IL-1β protein referenced under UniProt Q28386 and validated for use with serum, EDTA plasma, heparin plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and cell culture supernatants. Performance has been characterised on spiked matrices, with serum recovery reported between 83 and 100 percent (mean 91 percent), EDTA plasma recovery between 90 and 103 percent (mean 96 percent) and heparin plasma recovery between 89 and 102 percent (mean 95 percent); linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions of spiked samples remains within roughly 79 to 104 percent of expected values.

Intra-assay precision is reported at CV less than 10 percent and inter-assay precision at CV less than 12 percent, with standards and unknowns read colorimetrically on a 96-well microplate. The workflow adds 100 uL of standard or sample per well for the initial incubation at 37 degrees C, followed by 100 uL of detection reagent and a second 37 degrees C step, giving a format that fits routine biomarker profiling on a standard plate reader.

Reagents are intended for research use only and should be stored refrigerated between uses; the kit is shipped with a 12-month shelf life from the date of receipt. Cross-reactivity work indicates reactivity restricted to equine IL-1β, with no significant cross-reactivity observed against the closely related IL-1α isoform in validation testing, supporting studies of synovial inflammation, endotoxemia, recurrent airway obstruction and post-exercise immune response in horses.
