EPHA1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the qualitative detection of EPHA1 protein expression in human samples using a colorimetric method read at 450 nm. The assay operates in an indirect ELISA format: EPHA1 is captured by EPHA1-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, allowing the conjugated enzyme to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The platform is described as lysate-free and high throughput, and is suitable for use with adherent cells in culture.

The kit enables measurement of relative EPHA1 levels in cultured cells and can be used to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on EPHA1 expression. Because the assay is qualitative, the kit includes a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH to serve as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values. A Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method is also provided to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalized to cell amount to adjust for plating differences.

According to the manufacturer, the dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells. The plate format is a 96-well microplate, with storage conditions of 4°C and a stability of 6 months.
