Elk1 Transcription Factor Activity Assay

The Elk1 (Ets-like protein 1) Transcription Factor Activity Assay from Assay Genie is a quantitative microplate method for measuring DNA-binding activity of phosphorylated Elk1. The 96 Assays plate is pre-coated with a double-stranded oligonucleotide containing the serum response element (SRE) consensus sequence, enabling selective capture of activated Elk1 from nuclear and cell lysates. After binding, an Elk1-specific primary antibody and HRP-conjugated secondary antibody generate a colorimetric signal proportional to transcription factor activity.

Each kit provides reagents sufficient for analyzing human, mouse, and rat samples; store components at -20°C to preserve antibody and probe integrity. Nuclear extract preparations of approximately 10 uL per well are typically loaded. The assay is intended for in vitro research use only, including studies of MAPK/ERK signaling cascades, immediate-early gene regulation, and oncogenic transformation pathways involving aberrant ternary complex formation at SRE sites.
