Description

Assay Genie offers this DNA-binding ELISA Kit in a transcription factor assay format for the detection and qualitative analysis of Elk1 (Phospho-Thr417) active transcription factors in eukaryotic nuclear or cell lysates. The assay detects Elk1 phosphorylation at threonine 417, supporting research into intracellular signaling pathways, cellular responses to stimuli and the regulation of gene expression.

Reactivity is stated for human and mouse, and the sample types are nuclear or cell lysates. The detection method is colorimetric at 450 nm, the stated assay time is 4.5 hours, and storage is specified at 4°C for 6 months.

ELK1 is described as a transcription factor of the Ets family and the ternary complex factor (TCF) subfamily. It forms a ternary complex by binding to the serum response factor and the serum response element in the promoter of the c-fos proto-oncogene, and mediates gene activity in response to serum and growth factors. Phosphorylation by MAP kinase pathways at a cluster of S/T motifs at its C-terminus is critical for transcriptional activation by Elk-1.
