ELF1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

A cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables colorimetric quantification of ELF1 (E74-like factor 1) protein levels in cultured human cells. Designed as a sensitive, high-throughput and lysate-free assay, the kit is provided in a microplate format with detection at 450 nm and a stated dynamic range of > 5000 cells. It is intended for measuring relative ELF1 expression in adherent cells, and can be used to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators on ELF1 levels.

The assay uses an indirect ELISA format, in which ELF1-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step may be used to determine cell density for further normalization. Reactivity is specified for human samples, storage is at 4°C with a stability of 6 months, and the research area is Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling.
