eIF2alpha Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the accurate and sensitive detection of eIF2alpha (Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 2 Subunit Alpha) in cell lysates and tissue samples. The colorimetric assay is read at 450 nm and is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells.

The workflow is lysate-free and high-throughput, using an indirect ELISA format. Target protein is captured by eIF2alpha-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalised to cell amounts and adjusted for plating differences.

Qualitative determination of eIF2alpha concentration is achieved, supporting the measurement of relative eIF2alpha levels in cultured cells and screening for the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators. The plates are sterile and treated for cell culture with adherent cells, and the kit is stored at 4°C with a stability of 6 Months.
