EGFR (Phospho-Ser1071)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed to measure levels of phosphorylated EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor) at serine 1071 in cell lysates. The cell-based format is reactive with human, mouse and rat samples and is suitable for use with adherent cells, supporting research into signal transduction pathways, receptor tyrosine kinases and related diseases such as cancer and inflammation.

The kit operates as a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput indirect ELISA. Phosphorylated EGFR is captured by phospho-Ser1071-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyze a colorimetric read-out measured at 450 nm. The assay has a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. Researchers can use the kit to measure relative levels of phosphorylated EGFR in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators on EGFR phosphorylation.

Two normalization strategies are included: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH serves as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step can be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be adjusted to account for plating differences.
