EGFR Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for qualitative detection of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) in cultured cells. The assay uses a colour-change readout at 450 nm and is lysate-free, allowing researchers to measure relative EGFR levels and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on the target protein.

Detection follows an indirect ELISA format, in which EGFR-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of those primaries, enabling an HRP-catalysed colour reaction on substrate addition. The kit includes a human GAPDH antibody to serve as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step that can be used to determine cell density so that results can be adjusted for plating variation.

The kit has been validated for reactivity with Human, Mouse and Rat samples and is intended for use with adherent cells. The stated dynamic range is greater than 5000 cells. The kit is stored at 4 °C with a quoted shelf stability of 6 months.
