eEF2 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

This Cell-Based ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate detection of eEF2 (Eukaryotic Elongation Factor 2) levels in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. It is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples and is intended for Metabolism research applications.

The kit uses an indirect ELISA format in which eEF2-specific primary antibodies capture the target, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyze a colorimetric reaction. Detection is read at 450 nm with a dynamic range covering greater than 5000 cells. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control to normalize target absorbance values, while the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

EEF2 is an essential GTP-binding translation elongation factor that promotes the GTP-dependent translocation of the nascent protein chain from the A-site to the P-site of the ribosome. Dysregulation of EEF2 has been linked to cancer and neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions. The kit is supplied in a 96-well microplate format, stored at 4°C with a stability of 6 months, and includes the buffers, substrate, stop solution, and antibody components required to perform the assay.
