Dysferlin Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit enables qualitative measurement of dysferlin protein expression directly in cultured adherent cells without the need for lysate preparation. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which dysferlin is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies binding the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyse a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm.

Designed for high-throughput screening, the kit is suited to measuring relative dysferlin levels and to evaluating the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on dysferlin expression. Reactivity is established for human and mouse samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

Dysferlin is a calcium ion sensor involved in the sarcolemma repair mechanism of skeletal muscle and cardiomyocytes, and is a relevant biomarker for muscular dystrophies such as autosomal recessive limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2B and Miyoshi myopathy. The plate is stored at 4°C with a stability of 6 months.
