The LMAN2 gene encodes VIP36, a lectin-type integral membrane protein localized to the intermediate compartment and cis-Golgi network, where it participates in glycoprotein sorting and quality control within the secretory pathway.
This canine-specific sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie employs a colorimetric detection method, with standards and unknown samples processed across a 96-well microplate to deliver quantitative readouts of endogenous VIP36 levels in serum and plasma.
Investigators using canine models of congenital disorders of glycosylation, ER-Golgi trafficking defects, or comparative oncology can apply the assay to monitor circulating LMAN2 concentrations in clinical or preclinical cohorts.
Reconstituted reagents should be stored refrigerated at 2-8°C, and the unused strip wells should remain sealed in the supplied foil pouch with desiccant to preserve antibody binding activity across the full 96-well plate run.
The assay is supplied as a complete ELISA kit for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic procedures in veterinary practice.
