Description

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of the Nuclear factor NF-kappa-B p105 subunit (NFKB1), also referred to as Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells 1, in canine samples. The kit reacts with dog and is intended for research use only, supporting studies in immunology and related areas of canine health and disease.

The assay has a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.08ng/mL, with reactivity confirmed against natural and recombinant dog NF-kappa-B p105 subunit (Uniprot: Q6F3J0). Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported linearity values across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 are 87-97%, 90-99%, 88-98% and 95-104% for serum (N=5); 106-114%, 101-110%, 105-118% and 92-101% for EDTA plasma (N=5); and 98-108%, 97-106%, 100-112% and 101-109% for heparin plasma (N=5).

NF-kappa-B is a pleiotropic transcription factor present in almost all cell types, involved in inflammation, immunity, differentiation, cell growth, tumorigenesis and apoptosis. NFKB1/p105 contributes to cytoplasmic retention of NF-kappa-B proteins and undergoes co-translational processing to generate the p50 DNA-binding subunit, which recognises the kappa-B consensus sequence 5'-GGRNNYYCC-3' found in the enhancers of immune and acute phase response genes. The protein is detected in both nuclear and cytoplasmic compartments.
