Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a pleiotropic cytokine central to canine inflammatory and immune responses, and quantifying its concentration in canine specimens supports research into conditions such as osteoarthritis, sepsis, autoimmune disorders, and post-surgical inflammation in dogs. This Assay Genie kit uses a two-antibody capture format: a canine IL-6-specific coating antibody paired with a biotinylated detection reagent and streptavidin-HRP, producing an absorbance signal proportional to canine IL-6 levels in each well. A recombinant canine IL-6 standard curve is included so investigators can interpolate unknown sample concentrations directly. Each kit supplies sufficient reagents for 96 individual determinations when run according to the enclosed protocol, and the break-apart well-plate design allows unused strips to be reserved for subsequent runs. Unopened kits should be refrigerated at 4 degrees C and protected from light; reconstituted standards and diluted samples should be aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
