Dog Caspase-1 (CASP1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of canine Caspase-1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant dog Caspase-1, with a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 20pg/mL.

Caspase-1 is a thiol protease that cleaves IL-1 beta between an Asp and an Ala, releasing the mature cytokine that contributes to inflammatory processes and host defence against pathogens. It is also known by synonyms including Interleukin-1 beta convertase, Interleukin-1 beta-converting enzyme, p45, IL-1BC, ICE, CASP-1 and IL1BC. Dysregulation of caspase-1 activity has been implicated in infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders and inflammatory bowel disease, making it a useful biomarker for related research.
