Description

A Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of canine C-C motif chemokine 17 (CCL17), also referred to by the synonyms CC chemokine TARC, Small-inducible cytokine A17, and Thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC). The assay is colorimetric and is intended for research use only in immunology applications, supporting studies of inflammatory and immune-related conditions in dogs.

According to the manufacturer, the kit has a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 3.7pg/mL, and is reactive with natural and recombinant dog C-C motif chemokine 17. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. Reported linearity for serum (N=5) across dilutions 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 is 92-101%, 99-109%, 98-108%, and 105-114% respectively; for EDTA plasma (N=5) the values are 94-103%, 96-106%, 106-115%, and 100-108%; and for heparin plasma (N=5) the values are 110-120%, 97-107%, 102-112%, and 88-98%.

CCL17 is described as a chemotactic factor for T lymphocytes but not monocytes or granulocytes, playing a role in T-cell development in the thymus and in the trafficking and activation of mature T-cells, and binds to CCR4 and CCR8. The protein has a secreted subcellular localisation and is catalogued under UniProt accession Q95N01.
