Dog Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in dog samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and shows reactivity with dog BDNF, recognising both natural and recombinant forms of the target protein.

BDNF is a key neurotrophic factor involved in the development, maintenance and plasticity of the nervous system. It promotes the survival and differentiation of selected neuronal populations in the peripheral and central nervous systems, participates in axonal growth and pathfinding, modulates dendritic growth and morphology, and acts as a major regulator of synaptic transmission and plasticity at adult synapses in many regions of the CNS. As such, it is a valuable biomarker for research into neurodegenerative, cognitive and mood-related conditions.

The kit delivers a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.053 ng/mL. It is intended for research use only and is suited to neuroscience applications.
