Description

Developed by Assay Genie for canine research, this ELISA kit is designed for the accurate measurement of beta-endorphin levels in dog samples. Beta-endorphin is a vital neuropeptide involved in pain management and stress reduction, described in the literature as the endogenous ligand of the μ-opioid receptor — the same receptor to which compounds such as morphine bind — and serves as a valuable biomarker for studying conditions related to pain perception and stress in dogs.

The assay is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and detects both natural and recombinant dog beta-endorphin. It delivers a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 3.9 pg/ml, supporting reliable and reproducible results across research applications.

Linearity has been demonstrated for spiked samples (N=5) tested at serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recoveries were reported as 95–104%, 110–120%, 80–89% and 89–89% for serum; 97–105%, 81–91%, 109–120% and 102–112% for EDTA plasma; and 102–112%, 100–110%, 102–111% and 102–112% for heparin plasma. For research use only.
