Description

Designed for the qualitative detection of Death-Associated Protein Kinase 3 (DAPK3) in cultured cells, this colorimetric cell-based assay from Assay Genie provides a lysate-free, high-throughput format for profiling protein expression directly in adherent cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA approach in which DAPK3-specific primary antibodies capture the target, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, read at 450 nm. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step allows normalization of absorbance values to cell density.

Reactivity has been validated for Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. The kit is intended to be stored at 4°C for 6 Months and is suitable for measuring relative DAPK3 levels in cultured cells as well as screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on DAPK3 expression.

DAPK3 is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates apoptosis, autophagy, transcription, actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell motility, smooth muscle contraction, and cytokinesis. Dysregulation of the protein has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, supporting its use as a biomarker in disease research. The target is associated with Gene ID: 1613, UniProt ID: O43293, OMIM: 603289, chromosomal location 19p13.3, and a molecular weight of ~ 52kDa. Official synonyms include DLK, ZIP, and ZIPK.
