Cytochrome P450 2R1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

From Assay Genie, this In-Cell ELISA Kit is designed for detection of Cytochrome P450 2R1 (CYP2R1) levels in cell lysates. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and is reactive with human and mouse samples. The stated dynamic range is > 5000 Cells, the format is a 96-Well Microplate, and the recommended storage is 4°C for 6 Months. The validated sample type is adherent cells.

The kit is a lysate-free, high-throughput indirect ELISA. CYP2R1 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control in normalizing the target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density, with results analysed by normalizing absorbance values to cell amounts.

CYP2R1 has D-25-hydroxylase activity on both forms of vitamin D, vitamin D(2) and D(3), and the kit is intended for research into drug metabolism, toxicology, and drug-drug interactions, supporting studies of vitamin D metabolism and personalised medicine approaches.
