Description

This cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the qualitative detection of Cytochrome P450 2J2 in cultured human cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which a CYP2J2-specific primary antibody captures the target, while an HRP-conjugated secondary antibody binds the Fc region of the primary antibody. Substrate addition then drives a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm, allowing researchers to measure relative CYP2J2 protein expression and to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators.

The kit is lysate-free and supplied in a 96-well microplate format, with a dynamic range of more than 5000 cells and storage at 4°C for up to 6 months. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided to determine cell density so that absorbance readings can be adjusted for plating differences.

Cytochrome P450 2J2 (gene symbol CYP2J2, UniProt P51589) is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of monooxygenases. It localises to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and is described as one of the predominant enzymes responsible for the epoxidation of endogenous cardiac arachidonic acid pools, generating all four regioisomeric cis-epoxyeicosatrienoic acids through NADPH-dependent olefin epoxidation. The target is implicated in xenobiotic and drug metabolism, lipid metabolism, icosanoid metabolism, the regulation of heart contraction, and is a focus of metabolism research.
