Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the measurement of Cytochrome P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) protein levels in cell lysates and tissue samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method at 450 nm in a 96-well microplate format, with reactivity for human samples and a dynamic range of "> 5000 Cells". CYP2B6 is a key enzyme in hepatic drug metabolism, and the kit supports research into drug efficacy, toxicity, and drug-drug interactions.

The kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput assay that detects the CYP2B6 protein expression profile in cultured cells. Detection is achieved via an indirect ELISA format, in which CYP2B6 is captured by specific primary antibodies and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyse a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal anti-human GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalization, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density.

According to the manufacturer source, CYP2B6 is a cytochrome P450 subfamily IIB heme-thiolate monooxygenase (UniProt ID: P20813; Gene ID: 1555; OMIM: 123930) located on the endoplasmic reticulum membrane at chromosome 19q13.2, where it participates in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway that oxidises steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics. The kit is suitable for adherent cell samples and is stored at 4°C with 6 months of stability.
