Description

Assay Genie's Cell-Based ELISA Kit enables the accurate and sensitive detection of Cyclin A1 in cell lysates, serum, and tissue samples, supporting a variety of research applications in cell cycle biology, cell division, and proliferation. Qualitative determination of Cyclin A1 concentration is achieved through an indirect ELISA format, in which Cyclin A1 is captured by specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

The assay is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm, and is supplied in a 96-Well Microplate format with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. It is designed for adherent cells and is rated for storage at 4°C for 6 Months. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density for further normalization. The kit is suitable for measuring relative Cyclin A1 levels in cultured cells and for screening the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on Cyclin A1 expression.

Cyclin A1 is a member of the cyclin family, encoded by the CCNA1 gene (UniProt ID: P78396, Gene ID: 8900), which functions as a regulator of CDK kinases and is involved in the control of the cell cycle at the G1/S and G2/M transitions. Dysregulation of Cyclin A1 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and developmental disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for related research.
