Claudin 4 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit enables quantification of Claudin-4 levels in cell culture samples. It is a lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive assay that detects Claudin-4 protein expression in cultured cells. The kit can be applied to adherent cells and a variety of other cell types, offering flexibility for studies of cell-cell interactions, epithelial barrier function and drug screening.

The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which Claudin-4 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected using HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction at 450 nm. Normalization is achieved using an included anti-GAPDH monoclonal antibody as an internal positive control, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method for determining cell density. The dynamic range of the assay is > 5000 cells. The kit shows reactivity with human, mouse and rat samples and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format. Storage is at 4°C for 6 months.

Claudin-4 is a key tight junction protein that controls the permeability of cell barriers, and its dysregulation has been linked to cancer, inflammation and certain autoimmune disorders.
